Preveon Specialty Pharmacy, located in Highland, CA, strives to promote and achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes through collaborative Disease Therapy Management. Our goals include successfully improving the quality of life for each Patient, providing the highest standard of clinical services, reducing overall healthcare costs, and fostering relationships between Patients, Providers, and Payers..
Seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, patient-focused Patient Care Specialist for our Highland, CA pharmacy location. The PCS is responsible for providing customer services to patients referred to the pharmacy. Pharmacy Technician licensed preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Route patient referrals to the appropriate department or individual(s) in the pharmacy
2. Communicate necessary patient information to schedule services
3. Prepare and secure Medical Necessity documents
4. Establish and maintain patient records
5. Communicate with Intake Specialists to ensure proper billing to insurance companies, contracts, other third party payers
and patients for all products and services delivered
6. Determine correct resolution ot patient complaints; take corrective action and monitor results
7. Maintain accurate billing records
8. Schedule refills for patients through calls or SMS using the pharmacy maangement system and Salesforce
9. Obtain refill requests when appropriate
10. Prepare labels for the pharmacy technician to fill
11. Assist pharmacist with filling prescriptions (if Tech certified)
12. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
13. Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients
14. Assist with the resolution of patient complaints and concerns in a professional manner
15. Document and report patient concerns and complaints to the PIC
16. Report incidents in compliance with pharmacy policy
17. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
18. Participate in the pharmacy’s Quality Management Program as requested by the Compliance Officer
19. Participate in pharmacy committees when requested
20. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy
21. Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures within the pharmacy
22. Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues
23. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
1. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
2. Ability to evaluate options and make efficient decisions
3. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets, use of the internet, and email
4. High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
1. Pharmacy Technician license
Physical Requirements
1. The employee will spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 40 lbs.
